Langville, Montana was supposedly a real town in Montana that disappeared at some point before the 2000’s. While all evidence of the town has been wiped from existence some claim the residents were mysteriously “turned inside out” and a cover up has taken place to avoid panic.

It is impossible to know for sure where Langville, Montana used to be as all evidence of it has either been scrubbed from the internet or never existed at all, depending on who you ask.
Some sources claim Langville was located in the Eastern Plains region of Montana. Not enough detail has survived in the legends to pin point an exact location.
Various sources online suggest it was a small, rural town.
What happened to Langville, Montana?
According to legend during the early 1900s a mysterious force swept through the sleepy village of Langville. When passing travelers stopped by in the town they found dozens of bodies than seemed to have been turned inside out.
After this horrific incident the town was abandoned and the buildings slowly fell in to disrepair before disappearing entirely.
Now no one knows exactly where the town was but its legacy survives in folklore and campfire stories told throughout Montana.
Some say that the US government wanted to hide what had happened in Langville from the public so the towns existence was scrubbed from history.
Langville had all but disappeared from memory until 2016 when it was mentioned in the Ghostbusters remake. In the movie Agent Rorke says "A police officer in New Mexico reports a UFO encounter. The crew of the SS Ourang Medan mysteriously dies. The entire town of Langville, Montana goes missing."
Possible Explanations
It is possible that the whole story is a hoax and Langville, Montana never existed.
It is also possible that something horrific happened to the people of Langville and the government went to great lengths to cover it up.
Some have even suggested that Langville may be an example of the Mandela Effect.
Perhaps in another timeline Langville was a real place and since timelines have split and merged causing some people to remember a town that existed in another universe but not this one.
